Raid Preparedness and Etiquette.

Raid Preparedness and Etiquette.

If you cannot come to a raid fully prepared, food, flask, ENCHANTED GEAR , raid specs, other consumables, then do not come.

Raid preparedness does not mean you are simply on time. It does not mean you have 2-3 pieces of food, or you expect a Fish Feast. It means you can support yourself through a 5-hour night of raiding on all fronts, You have all max enchants, epic gems as well as Sons of Hodir Exalted shoulder enchants. (Unless you are inscription)

If you come to a raid and did not perform at your peak, you did not give the other 24 people who's time you were consuming the benefit of having farmed 1-2 hours this week for a few consumables. You cheated them, and yourself.

Clan Beard wants to be a casual raiding guild in terms of time commitment while beating bosses and progressing along side other Manno guilds. We want you to be a part of that, but only so long as you are willing to be a part of it.

Excuses of "I didn't have time or the gold" does not fly. Part of raiding is making sure that the limited time you do have to play is spent at least to get ready for the raids that you take part in. The more people are prepared, the faster we clear and the more loot everyone gets.

Money is not an issue in this game. If you can't spend a half hour before raid time BUYING your consumables on the AH, you lose. Also, in this time you should respec to whatever does MAXX raid dps. Screw the PVP talents, and other useless things you may grab "incase you get ganked"...spec for a raid.
Failure to follow any of these rules may result in a strike.

Here are some guidelines for "raid etiquette"--behavior that helps the raid and the guild progress rather than slowing us down on any given night. They should be read and considered by new applicants as well as older members who have forgotten how to raid.

- KEEP VENT CLEAR WHEN RAID LEADERS ARE TALKING. This includes being aware and anticipating when orders will be given out--before new pulls, before and during every boss fight, when buff assignments are going out etc and then NOT EVEN STARTING to talk at these times. Jibberjabber is ok if nothing else is going on, but when the raid leader has to wait for you to finish talking about your hamster collection before being able to hand out critical tasks we end up with a ton of standing around time.

- DO NOT NINJA AFK. This should be so obvious. If you MUST go afk in order to do something during a raid you MUST tell the raid leader so we know what is happening and how long to expect you will be gone. You should try and minimize AFKs entirely, or at the very least concentrate them to the time when you are not necessarily needed such as during trash pulls. AFKing before a boss fight, even if you give notice, makes an entire 25 man raid stand around doing nothing. Emergencies happen, but even in an emergency you can take 5 seconds to tell the leader what is happening so they can replace you if necessary.

- TAKE SOME INITIATIVE. Organize your classes' buff groups and actually buff people, help hand out consumables, make healthstones or mage tables, and basically do everything you can to get the raid started and keep it rolling smoothly. These tasks should not require prompting by the raid leader or other players who lose buffs or use healthstones, they should be done early and often. Get grid and configure it to show buffs if you need help figure out who needs rebuffing. Bring a LARGE surplus of buffing materials so you arent tempted to slack and so you don't end up handing out 10 minute kings. Pay attention to who dies--if you can res, do so immediately and call out who you are ressing so there is no overlap--when there are more ressers than dead raiders everyone should be up in 10 seconds. The instant they are ressed hit them with full buffs.

- IF RAID PLANS CHANGE DO NOT QUIT. Sometimes a raid fails, or sometimes it doesn't have the right group makeup to progress further in a zone or even start. When this happens we usually try and do some easier 25 man content to get undergeared people items they still need. Do not make comments of disgust, do not quit the raid, do not argue the decision unless you have a logical reason to do the planned content and you can make a case for success to the leaders. If you have to leave because of time issues that's fine. If you quit the raid and go into a battleground or some shit you are basically saying "I don't care about helping the guild gear up, I only care about doing things where I might get loot", and that is not the attitude we want in this guild.

Many players already have good raid etiquette, but others need to work on it. Please remember that these guidelines exist to help things go smoother and faster, which translates into more content and a better geared guild.
